Exhibit/Discussion//Last month in Seal Beach, the magical Ryan Callis presented a salon-style evening.

moving into a hidden fortress in Echo Park called Grotesque ; treasure nestled up against the wild and historic hills of Elysian Park.

one last note: headed to Houston, Texas with the geo-dome in a few days for a Galeria Perdida show curated by Julie Speilman entitled "Towards a New Architecture".

the featherbeard project in Chilchota

Last wednesday evening I rode a huge metal bird back to Los Angeles from Guadalajara City, Jalisco, Mexico.

I wanted to recount in a serial & retrospective manner, the projects I undertook and took part in during my time in Chilchota. on Friday of my first week in that magical town, Andy Janacua organized a happening.

Andy's project involved coordinating the shutting-down of a street near galeria perdida. The purpose of the street closer was to enable and invite the street's residents to eat lunch together and share each other's company in an unusual and exciting way. Almost every household on the street was into the idea and prepared special food to share with their neighbors. Everyone had a great time eating, laughing and playing games in the street.

a Fort in Chilchota

greethings again from Chilchota, Michoacan. The fort is now underway, and nearing completion. With the help of Neto, a new friend from Chilchota, my idea of a creating a collaborative project has been coming to realization. We worked together most of the afternoon yesterday and into the night, collecting materials from a junk yard of sorts in the town and using local construction methods to put together the fort´s structure. The building techniques and structure of the fort are based on what Neto and other Chilchotans call casas de campo. This refers to a shack built out of locally available building materials, like corrugated plastic and metal, wood and plastic tarps called lonas. More to come soon! Enjoy the images>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
